Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Etiology:  Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a spontaneous tumor which often originates from the ventral marking gland [3].

Incidence: SCC is common in aged (> 2 years) male Mongolian Gerbils.

Clinical Signs:  Gerbils may present with a skin ulcer on the ventral abdominal wall.

Diagnosis:  Diagnosis is made based on clinical signs and confirmed by histopathology.
